Bilble studies Sunday April 4th
04/11/2011 05:57 "I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God.."
At this Sunday worship Pastor taught us about importance of Evangelism and spreading the God's word. It happens that we, "regular people", forget about our duties in that matter. We come to church, we pray, but sharing a Good News with others is still hard for us. Are we ashamed?
Maybe we are afraid of being laughed at? Or maybe during our weekly routine we loose the spirit?
We have three definitions of Evangelism. Evangelism as a:
a) method
b) messenger
c) messege
a) Evangelism is a progress of preaching and bringing Good News
Romans 1:15-16
" That is why I am so eager to preach the Gospel also to you who are at Rome. I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes:first for the Jews, then for the Gentiles."
2 Timothy 1:11
"And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher."
Those two quotations clearly show what we have to do. God expects from us to tell another people about him and we cannot be ashamed of him.
We need to testify, wherever we go!
b) Evangelism is one who proclaims Good News
Acts 21:8
"Leaving the next day, we reached Caesarea and stayed at the house of Philip the evangelist, one of the Seven."
2 Timothy 4:5
" But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry."
Remember, God can use you as an evangelist. It doesn't matter in what kind of situation you are in, speaking about God is your duty.
c) Evangelism is a message
Matthew 28:18-20
"Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
This quotation is so powerful! Reading it brings me such a joy and fulfills me with a great hope. Jesus is saying to the disciples that all the powers belongs to him and he will give them that power to go and speak about him. Every time you are sharing the Word of God, Jesus gives you the power to do it. He also assures that he is always present with us.
REMINDER - Find time to pray, because we don't know how to use a power of God and power of our prayers.
Pray - for more knowledge and more desire to go out and tell about God. Evangelism is an instant part of church, it makes it grow.
Questions - How many souls did you bring to the house of God?
Homework - Bring somebody new to church next week. Tell someone about Jesus.
